 World Handball Championships Webcasting (streaming LIVE audio and video over the Internet) will begin on 10/7 and conclude on 10/11/09. We have two show-courts; 4-wall and 1-wall. Tournament organizers (not the WPH) will determine the video line-up. We may toggle between 4-wall and 1-wall depending on the match-ups and could possible toggle between the two "live" if we wanted to get tricky.
No WPH or USHA membership is required to watch, but both organizations encourage you to join.
The link to download the special Nifty-TV video player will be available on the morning of the 7th, if not sooner. We will have an instruction (landing page) link and download page ready shortly with Q and A's and details on how and when to download. Expect this link on http://www.wphlive.tv, handball09worlds.com, ushandball.org, if not others.
The WPH will offer multiple cameras, instant replays, commentary and interviews.
The WPH, as of this post, has raised only monies to webcast through private donations. No other organization has helped financially (at this time). We are shy by $2,500 and need more support. If you donated money for webcasting and sent it to another association please alert us. Likewise, if you would like to donate, please contact us: davecvincent@cs.com

No it will not.
We made some improvements with the visual quality and encoded the player differently. This baby is charged up and simply better. Call it the webcaster10.0.
Use JUST this video player and erase all previous ones from your hard drive.

We selected Wednesday as a start date based on the notion that 10/7 would be the finals day for the 1-wall events, but it ended up being Tuesday (the 6th). Kastner blocked time off from his Outdoor Life Film Shoot from Wednesday until Sunday and is working all day today.
We are completely aware of the mens, doubles, and women's finals today and are saddened by the fact that we are unable to webcast them. I'm coping by slamming my left hand in the sliding glass shower door multiple times as punishment for not forcing answers 3 months back when I originally asked.
With that said, Kastner ran down to the club early (between a film shoot and trip to Hood River) to set up a single camera on the showcourt. We are attempting to record in HD with no commentary and are logging the men's singles right now. I hope to high heaven that I can pull strings to get the doubles and women's finals that follow.
I would have posted this message quicker, but I am typing with one hand due to purposely slamming left fingers and hand in door multiple times!

Thanks for the quick response. It sounds like the mens singles has started. Hopefully, someone will post the progress of the open finals matches.

Yes, it is up and running and Brady v Finnegan was on. Brady won 9 and 9 (I think). Now it's Shanks and Fink. |

Hey Swobocop, are you having any problems with the feed? I do get continuous audio, but the visual feed is not a continuous picture. For instance, during Charly "No" Shanks run in game two, I would see Charly serve, then there would be an interruption, I would then see Finky lunging or out of position, the ball returned, then I would I hear a Shanks kill but not be able to see it. Strange. I have never had this kind of experience with a feed. Is there something I can alter on my end?

I had a temporary black out.. but sound remained and it really didn't last long enough to try and troubleshoot.
Sounds like you need to get off the dial-up connection...;-)
Shanks over Fink 20 and 8.

I would say "it's a Dell". But, I like Dell.
I missed game 1. But, the end of game 2 was weird. Finky was playing No Shanks mano a mano. Then, a bad call ensued at about 9 serves 8. For whatever reason, the lines person did not understand, thumbs up, you agree with the ref. Thumbs down, you disagree with the ref. That basic screw up messed with Finky's mind i.e. I suspect he could not believe the dude checking the ref's calls could not even get 1 + 1 right if they spotted him a 2. From that point forward, Finky seemed to not be engaged in the match. No Shanks ran up a zillion points serving to the low right from the far left side of the box. Sad finish. Finky has to be incensed.
